Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes are bringing forward proposals for a new residential development and recreational public open spaces on land at Weir Hill in Shrewsbury.
As joint land owners, we are submitting a planning application for up to 600 new homes, including a proportion of affordable properties for local people in housing need.
We are also proposing to develop extensive new areas of dedicated public open space, including a new riverside park. The scheme will include new walks, recreation areas and play equipment. This would all be set within a managed landscaped area for the whole community to enjoy.
As considerate and responsible developers, we place high importance on public consultation with respect to our proposed developments. We seek to ensure that local communities and businesses are kept fully informed of our emerging proposals, and to provide an opportunity for feedback to ensure that we are able to understand local opinion and integrate where possible any suggested changes.
We held a public consultation on Monday 2nd November 2015 to give the local community a chance to view our proposals and submit their comments before we finalised our planning application for submission to the Local Planning Authority. We continued with local consultations with immediate neighbours, councillors and statutory consultees during 2016 in order to refine the proposals, such that they are now ready for submission to Shropshire Council.
Further public consultation will be undertaken by Shropshire Council as part of its determination of the planning application.
